What a weekend!

I had 3 great photo shoots this weekend and I can't wait to share some of the pictures but before I get that we had some other excitement at my house. On Sunday, while I was at my second shoot of the weekend my husband called my cell. When I answered he was basically hyperventilating on the other end. I asked what was going on and that's when I learned that our house had been broken in to and burglarized!

Hubby was home when it happened, but fortunately was upstairs and must have scared them off after they got nearly every electronic device we owned on the first floor. They took small electronics, a Wii, a Play Station 3, an IPod touch, a GPS, a Nikon point and shoot (thank goodness I had all of my real equipment with me!), 2 Nintendo DS's, and I feel like I'm forgetting something...

They left the Play Station 2 that was sitting there, apparently there isn't much street resale on the older model, they also left a DVD player - that's so last year.

Interestingly enough they could have walked right in the back door, it was unlocked - because hubby was home, but instead they cut the screen on one of the windows and came in through the window. Who knows why.

We are now the 3rd on our block in 2 months, and the 5th that I know of since Easter that have been burglarized on a Sunday afternoon. I'm just so thankful that hubby didn't get hurt. Who knows what they would have been prepared to do if he had just shown up down there in the middle of it. He was literally up stairs for 30 minutes and in that time they were in and out!

The "stuff" they took doesn't upset me too badly, but man knowing that my family could have been hurt just makes me sick. To think if Max hadn't gone with me on the photo shoot to play with my friends daughter he would have been in the room when they entered the house. He probably would have been playing on the PC and turned thinking Daddy was making some noise and found thieves in his home. God only know what would have happened, but I'm thanking Him for looking out for my boy that day. I NEVER take him with me on a shoot, but for some reason I did and thank GOD! Thank GOD!
